Concert " Aimez-vous Brahms"

On July 26 and 27, 2025.

As has been the case for several summers now, the Choeur Région Sud will travel to the Hautes-Alpes department for two concerts.
The first will take place at the church of Monêtier-les-Bains on Saturday, July 26, and the second at the collegiate church in Briançon on Sunday, July 27.
Under the direction of Michel Piquemal, the choir will perform its magnificent concert entitled "Aimez-vous Brahms?"
"Choral and orchestral music is the highest expression of music," stated Robert Schumann. Brahms' work perfectly illustrates this idea. Having been a choir director himself, he excels in using the resources of the voice and choral singing, giving each piece a strong emotional charge. Sometimes serene and luminous, sometimes dark and tormented, sacred or secular, these songs transcend the antagonistic forces of classicism and romanticism in a harmonious unity. A piano interlude featuring the intermezzi adds tenderness and nostalgia to this vocal concert.
