The artists:
Dominique Pifarély and François Couturier:
A collaboration spanning more than thirty years, in a variety of configurations, has brought together these two highly singular musicians, who are happily reunited today in a reaffirmation of their great artistic complicity.
The first evidence of their complicity in the form of a duo was recorded and published by the prestigious German label ECM in 1997.
Now they are creating an original programme for piano and violin, refined in the crucible of improvisation and jazz, and the rich tradition of their instruments.
Géraldine Laurent :
Born in 1975, Géraldine LAURENT began her musical studies on the classical piano and took up the alto saxophone at the age of 13 at the conservatoire in her home town of Niort. Then, she went on to study jazz with Robert Boillot and pianist Floris Nico Bunik, gaining a DEM and a Deug in musicology at the University of Poitiers.
